Liminal Spaces & Wellbeing

A short think piece on the in-betweens of life, and how our wellbeing fits in during these transitionary times.

This morning, a good friend sent me this article by Anne-Laure Le Cunff:

My first thought was: wow, I have such a wonderful support network - they see through the cracks and know just what I need.

But it is worth a read and talks about the spaces in between where you were and where you are going. As a visualiser, I saw it as the jump between stepping stones, before you know exactly where your footing is going to land, whether it’ll make it or if you’ve even chosen the right stone to land on.

As scary as these times can be, it is worthwhile to be told clearly that periods of life when the unknown clouds over us are that way by design. That changes, by design, give us discomfort so that we can shed, adapt and see something that we hadn’t seen before; looking at something we look at every day from a new perspective.

It can feel a lot simpler to focus on your wellbeing when your car is working as it should, you know where your keys are, and you have the time and resources to work on the projects you are taking on. But when the time comes when life is jolted - and the ways you went about your life don't quite work anymore, these wellbeing anchors can be your lifeboat. The pieces that make up our life are many, and each part of our well-being needs care and love. They allow us to have the flexibility to bend through all of the unexpected changes of life.

As a woman who thrives on curiosity and takes my thoughts and decisions all the way to the end (sometimes to my detriment), I will always encourage everyone to take the plunge and dive deep into the unknown. I have loved creating a business based on education (and curiosity), connection and collaboration - reflective of my own values and passions. And I’m excited to dive deeper into the unknown, with the help of the beautiful community around me.
